Ohio Players "Funky Worm", only because they weren't on the album version.

But how can you get any better than the classics: "Synthetic Substitution", "Impeach the President" & "Get out my life woman" (Lee Dorsey)?!!

    Cosign.

Hearing that on the 7" version was a minor revelation.

I'll ride for "Put Your Hand in the Hand." That little roll on most versions of the song just kills me.

The OG 45 version is far superior to the Bandolero 12":

I gotta go with lover and a friend, that snare is devastating...also got to give an honorable mention to the underappreciated Johnny talbot "pickin cotton", those snare rolls are tough.

Er... isn't this the Detroit Emeralds drums slowed down and put on the beginning? At least on the european 45 it is...

It was 1972 not some 2002. A few records back then had that same pattern. The Gladys Knight break was the same as well, different drum kit, but the same pattern.

These drums are mean as well.

I'm pretty sure I remember reading somehwere that they used the same tape and kept the drums so as not to have to rerecord them.

This is an amazing break and it never fails make the B-Boys go wild. One of my favorite Alphonse Mouzon braeks.

First track that comes to mind is The Vulture by Labi Siffre.

I think a lot of yall are just thinking "Drum Braeks" in general and missing the "45" aspect. Or is that just me splitting hairs?

I think people failed to see the "45" rule.
