When Dave got back from Africa, He stopped by the studio my friend works at and said the whole situation is aabout the integrity of the show and that's it. and he wasn't going to attach his name to something that wasn't as good as he thought it could be. He doesn't care if it means he has to go back on the comedy club circuit doing clubs, because he said that is actually where he felt the most comfortable.
I am sure someone else will snap him up though just off the sales figures of the DVDs alone. Really I think this put him in a better position if and when another studio tries to make a bid. He will most likely have more control.
