    Might've been Kenny Loggins in Lake Tahoe, probably at Caesar's. I would have to ask my dad for the exact details. This would've been right on the heels of the "Dangerzone / Top Gun" era.

    ABBA. I was in the childrens choir during the concert. Yes I got to meet them backstage. Yes the all four were hot in that 70's music way.

    Pink Floyd's Momentary Lapse of Reason tour at RFK in DC, 1987. My mom bought me 10 tickets for my birthday and me and my 7th grade friends all smoked pot for the first time and pretty much freaked out over the light show and the pig and the flying, burning bed and all that stuff. Man, that was awesome. Great show.

    first (mini) concert I attended included Technotronic, Right Said Fred and Del the fonke homosapien... held at Wonderland (a Sydney theme park, it was a day time gig for under 18s).

    First real concert- Teenage Rampage tour (sponsored by Coke)- Icecube (and WC) and Cypress Hill with a shit sydney acid jazz band Skunkhour for support.

    April 1984, at university of Buffalo, The Clash, the post Mick "Out Of Control" Tour. 14 years old. was SO bummed i couldnt go in '82 (which happened like 10 minutes after i learned that 1. they existed and that 2. they were now my fave band), that i made sure i went to this one, even though it wasnt quite right w/o Mick. i got to say, they still destroyed it. about 4000 in attendance, pretty violent pit action. we were standing about 20 people back in the floor crowd.

    1990 HOUSE OF PAIN haha! Small club in dedham massachusetts. I was so amped! 14 years old,smoking dirt weed blunts loving life. it was an all ages show and jump around was a big record at that time. We got rolled on by like 15 dudes! Haha we had to run outta that mufucka after the show! Dedham keeps it gully, they weren't feeling my white dude high top fade lol! So much fun.

    Sept 1979. Madison Square Garden, the last night of the M.U.S.E. (No Nukes) concerts. Opening acts were Ray Parker Jr & Raydio and Poco, headliner was Crosby, Still and Nash. "Special" acts were James Taylor & Carly Simon, Paul Simon, Bonnie Raitt, Jesse Colin Young, Jackson Browne, Stephen Bishop, and a few others I can't remember right now...

    My first concert I remember was Sha Na Na at Stevens Point Ice Arena, Stevens Point WI

    A couple years later my folks took us to Johnny Cash at the local college auditorium in Stevens Point.

    My first solo road trip with friends to see a show was The Violent Femmes, 1985 at First Ave in Minneapolis. A place I ended up spending a lot of my adult life at later.

    Eagles "Hotel California" tour with opening act Andrew Gold at the Omni (RIP) in Atlanta 1977. Steve Miller showed up and jammed with the Eagles on the encore.
    Second concert was Peter Frampton and 38 Special (also at the Omni).
    Third show was Yes and Donovan (ditto).
    Can't remember after that....

    Neal Diamond or Jefferson Starship in 87 I think with my parents...I saw both in the same summer -- can't remember what was first (I was 7 years old)

    First on my own w/ my friends: Beastie Boys, The Roots, and John Spencer Blues Explosion in 92 or 93. At George Mason University Patriot Center. My friend's mom knew some security dude and he got us floor seats.

    First big concert, not including small local club shows, was the first Lollapalooza in Raleigh, NC.

    Willie Dixon at Chicagofest, August, 1979. This was a now-defunct outdoor festival down on Navy Pier. The opening act was a Milwaukee, WI blues band called Short Stuff.

    Sting, Dream Of The Blue Turtles tour in 1985. I was a huge Police fan but missed them on the Synchronicity tour, so this was as close I figured I would ever get. Great show, Sting had that band with all the jazz dudes (Branford Marsalis, Kenny Kirkland, Omar Hakim and Darryl Jones) and they were amazing.

    Poison: Unskinny Bop world tour. I was 15 years old and working as a panel op at the radio station that sponsored the show, we were doing a live backstage broadcast.

    I hated the music but the experience of a stadium show and its legions of groupie-vixens clad in skintight leather and denim was a formative one.

    Poison... f*ckin hell.

    Burning Spear 1984 at some tiny club in Santa Fe.

    My mom took my best friend and I (we were 13) and we got to hang out with the band backstage after. we were high as F*ck when we left.

    Before Sister Sledge blew back up on the retro tip. About 1988?

    I ended up going on my own and it was all tables, so I had to sit with complete strangers. And I was by far the youngest person in there; the rest were all proper Casino-days soul boys and girls.

    Full live band, very slick and the bassist was Tony "TNT" Jones - we chatted about Bernard Edwards etc during the breaks. I could just about afford 2 pints and the taxi home.

    Cathy Sledge was just too cute.

    I was 13. Deep Purple and Nazareth February 1973 Coventry Theatre followed a few months later by Bowie's Ziggy Tour at the same venue.

    I can't quite remember it was either going to Reading Festival the day Nirvana played, or Dinosaur Jr at the Brixton Academy.

    Not counting local pub gigs, or going to carnival or other ish as a kid.

    Aerosmith with Dokken, 1986. I was in sixth grade and a little scared of the scene.

    I think my parents picked me up at 11pm, or about 1/2 the way through Aerosmith.

    Still have the shirt!

    1992 Guns 'N Roses, opening acts Soundgarden and Faith no More.

    obviously Axl showed up 2 hours late for the gig, but it was a great gig.

    My grandmother took me to see Liberace at the Steel Pier in Atlantic City in the early 60's.

    Saw Vanilla Fudge at a High School in 1968.

    First "real" concert I went to by choice was Led Zeppelin at Madison Square Garden in 1970....two nights in a row.
