No, but I heard its heard because there are thorns and it will tear your fingers up. Actually, maybe I have, come to think of it. There was a lot of cotton fields outside of Bakersfield and I may have picked some on a field trip. Or I may have just made that up in my head.

    I'm not really sure.

Also, I always forget and think that cotton comes from sheep because they look like they are covered in cotton balls.

What sort of answer did anyone expect from this question? It's a smart-ass response, but predictable.

    WIDEEYED:HOLYSHIT:WIDEEYED seems extreme to me.

My grandfather dropped out of school at 10 years old to pick tobacco.

He started smoking that same year.

He went blind in the 40's from drinking bad moonshine.

He stayed on my ass about going to school and getting an education so I didn't have the same life he did.

He died in 1997 at age 98.

    RIP Lacey Cooke.

    and thanks.

When he was about 92 I asked him to tell his life story into a tape recorder that I would buy and teach him how to use....I thought it would be cool for my kids and grandkids to learn about him and his life.

He refused saying "I've done too many things I am ashamed of and wouldn't want anyone to know about"

I said "Well, just leave that stuff out"

To which he replied...."Then there won't be anything to talk about".
