You'd think out of respect for her dignity they could just say "cancer", or at least reserve the word "anal" for the very bottom [no pun intended] of the article.
Agreed. I've never heard that form of the disease referred to as "anal" cancer. It's "rectal" cancer, which I think is a more dignified way of describing it. Some call it "colo-rectal" cancer in reference (obviously) to the colon.
My friend's mother passed away from this form of cancer as well. It is an ugly disease.
