Was the writer of that piece a strutter? I noticed a pause and an ayo from time to time. Is he taking cues from the Strut or did the Strut co-opt those phrases earlier?
yup except they left out the one where Spider Loc got Yukmouth for his chain and put up the video in the pawn shop the next day...that shit was funny as hell.
do people really walk around saying "you smell me?" Tru Life (whoever that is) keeps saying it in the video about Jim Jones chain. ive heard it said in rhymes but it sounds so completely ignorant when used in conversation.
I understand the whole "Stop Snitchin" movement and the code of the skreets, but it's kind of crazy that rappers openly rob other rappers for their chains and everyone knows about it -- and there's really no consequences.

Those phrases were in use years before this forum even existed.

I assumed that was the case. As much as I respect the Strut, it's influence only extends so far.
I was only familiar with "no homo" when I arrived here, so ayo and pause/pasue were new to me.

Word, interesting (though sometimes ill-written/proofread) read.
Gucci Mane looks like a cartoon.

Well, we know he's trying to bring back the Kris Kross pants-backward thing, however ill-advised that might be.
Absolutely not. I use the grammatically correct "Do you smell me?"
I voted for THE HOOD LUVS ME

I know its kinda obvious now, but I mean the iced out bart was f*cking innovative. that gets my vote.
Is he biting Kriss Kross and rocking his jeans back to front?
