Good studio monitors for $100ish?

Looking to cop some powered studio monitors for around $100..Anybody got suggestions?I've been looking around but not quite sure whats good..thanks

    Sherioushly difficult proposition. Can you get your hands on an amp? I think you have a much better chance of finding some decent 2nd hand passive monitors, say the early krk rokits or something along those lines.

    that budget is going to hold you back in a big way.

    you can get 'speakers' for 100 bucks but not 'good' studio monitors.


    be prepared to spend at least 300 for a pair of used monitors that are decent (i am being conservative with that #).

    as far as finding something, just check craigslist every day in the musical instruments section , like casbah said if you can find a cheap power amp and a pair of passive monitors you can save some cash....
