Nice to see this get some shine. There is a full length documentary coming out now, with other songs being covered, and other street performers as well.
I had the pleasure of DJ'ing the afterparty for the NYC premier for "Playing For Change". It was a great experience. All of the artists were there from all over the world, and I got to play all sorts of music from dub to funk to fela, and heads were getting down to it. Around 2-3am after the drinks were pouring, the scene turned into an open mic session, and I ended up cutting up intros and breaks on classic tunes for a bunch of these heads to sing over. It was a pretty meltface experience.
