  • Haha, those crazy Conservatives. Being upset with the government for abusing power and taxation is so 1773. Don't they know it's 2009 and we trust our leaders implicitly now? They surely know better than we do what is best for us.

    b/w Rachel Maddow has man-parts.

republicans act like they are libertarian when the shoe fits. sadly this whole "protest teabagin' " is a continuation of their "protect the interests of the ULTRA rich. F*ck the middle class. exploit the poor." F*ck THESE DUDES!

You actually got out there and proactively voiced your criticisms and opposition during the last administration? Or did you just whine on an internet forum to 20 other dudes who think exactly like you do?

And to the other guy, it's not about protecting the rich. Enough with that f'ing broken record. If you look at the people protesting most of them are average Joes who don't feel so good about their taxes, their children's taxes, and their children's children's taxes going to bail out fu*k-up companies that deserve to fail and stimulus plans that may or may not work (throughout history they've never succeeded).

Consider for a second that these people are not wrong or crazy. They just feel differently than you on the subject.

Yeah, it's a bunch of average Joe's that are protesting against taxes they don't have to pay because they'll never make nearly enough money. They have to protest against something, right? So they go and protest against whatever they get fed as a protest-worthy cause. Everybody knows that deep inside their hearts, they're protesting against having a black president and against having a president that makes their former administration and their party look like uncapable hicks who fusked up the world economy for years to come. But they can't go and write that on a banner, can they? These people much rather would see themselves and everybody else go down and crash and burn before letting an administration they both hate and fear save their country.

Says a guy who admittedly doesn't pay any taxes.

I paid $30K+ in taxes last year and voted for Obama.

Can I criticize goverment spending without being called a racist?

    Please let me know.

I was talking about those protesting "average Joe's" and I'm pretty confident that the people you keep seeing in those news clips are way too dumb to understand the most basic political concepts. How else would you want to explain all those "stop socialism" or "impeach this america-hating marxist" picket signs and bumper stickers? Those people are driven by hate and fear and not by political believes because they're just too dumb for any real thoughts.

I'm not paying any taxes because my accounant keeps telling me that I'm very, very bad at business. My expenses leave close to nothing from the small and occasional income that I have. I'm not even a US citizen so it wouldn't matter either way. I still have an opinion though or am I not entitled to one? Maybe next time I have to check it at immigrations, along with the smoked bacon...

Yeah, lets not get all bogged down in facts. Its so much easier to just call Maddow a man, and call everyone here lazy, because clearly discussing politics with 20 like-minded people online is no where near the bold revolutionary stroke of patriotism that is sitting around with 20 like-minded people and hand-made signs on a street corner somewhere.

    Andrew Sullivan:
As a fiscal conservative who actually believed in those principles when the Republicans were in power, I guess I should be happy at this phenomenon. And I would be if it had any intellectual honesty, any positive proposals, and any recognizable point. What it looks like to me is some kind of amorphous, generalized rage on the part of those who were used to running the country and now don't feel part of the culture at all. But the only word for that is: tantrum.

These are not tea-parties. They are tea-tantrums.

It's crazy for 7 years you heard you must support the president no matter what you believed in time of crisis.

How quickly the message totally changed from the Reps side.

Of course there's crazies on both sides (and wherever Harvey is.) But now that they've been pretty thoroughly rejected by voters, the right seems to be reacting to their implosion with a level of bile that's starting to really make me worry about McVeigh types.

    DON'T BE DUPED!
The term ???teabagging??? has strong sexual connotations.
Be wary of anyone with a camera asking you if you are a
???teabagger??? or if you enjoy ???teabagging??? or similar leading
questions ??? they are trying to make a fool of you.
Netroots interviewers might ask leading questions about
immigration, President Obama, etc., to bait you into making
comments they can paint as racist. Remember: the Tea
Party is about responsible government and liberty for all
    Americans, regardless of our differences.
Interviewers might also ask questions designed to show you
are uneducated and ignorant. If you don't know an answer to
what they ask you, be honest and say that ??? www.peoplespresscollective.org ??? you don't know.

A number of people, including yourself, seemed to think it was business as usual for a US president to call for not just arms reduction, but disarmament.

People who know history know this was a radical speech and a new direction for US policy.

The purpose of that speech was to state that the U.S. was moving forward with the Czech Missile Shield project......all the rest was rhetoric......which apparently worked on who it was aimed at.

    This is what he said:

And as nuclear power ???- as a nuclear power, as the only nuclear power to have used a nuclear weapon, the United States has a moral responsibility to act. We cannot succeed in this endeavor alone, but we can lead it, we can start it.

So today, I state clearly and with conviction America's commitment to seek the peace and security of a world without nuclear weapons.

You might think words don't matter, but I believe they do.

You might think these are just words aimed at making me feel good.

He makes two very radical statements there.
One he acknowledges that the US is the only country to ever have used a nuclear weapon against another, thus we have a moral responsibility.

He also calls for Nuclear disarmament.

This signals a change in US policy.

Some day I hope to quit schooling you.

    Action > Words

What else besides the Missile Shield did he actually commit to doing??

    Answer - Nothing

As a matter of fact he stated that Nuclear Disarmament may not be possible in his lifetime(You didn't C&P that part).

The fact that you think you're "schooling" anyone is laughable.

Get back to me when we commit to something besides building a Missile Shield in the world of Nuclear Arms.

Until then have fun with your fantasies.

BTW....I am all for Nuclear Disamrament.....I support it 1,000%.....it's just that I, like President Obama, realize it's easier said than done.....and is not going to happen anytime soon.

Sorry, I hate to tell you this, but Obama is not going to unilaterally disarm, which seems to be the only thing that would impress you.

That he is continuing with his support of NATO and European missile defense is not news.

When GWB took office he unilaterally pulled out of our arms agreement with Russia and was pushing for the resumption of nuclear testing and building new weapons.

Not only is this a reversal of that policy but it lays out a new policy that no other US president has put forward.

    A world without nuclear weapons.

Your words supporting disarmament are meaningless.
    Obama's are not.
