It was a much needed. The hub on my micro box is beat if the cable moves at all while playing the shit dissconects. Been meaning to get it saudered back in place.

USB2 won't help that. Plugs are identical.
USB connectors just weren't built for gigging.. they don't stand up to repeated use.

Why is the SL 3's USB cable so hard to push in? Customers requested a tighter, stronger USB jack to avoid it accidentally falling or being pulled out in the rat's nest of cables often encountered. Plus, some users often plug and unplug the I/O cables on tour, so an improved jack that can handle more insertions before failure is appreciated. It's a good thing, trust us!

It may improve the accuracy of the control however - if it is sampling the timecode from the record in 24bit.
