Is this a new trend? (possibly collectro-influenced?) I've been noticing it lately on a few Fania CD reissues. See also:http://cgi.ebay.com/From-the-Street-Chui...S:B:SRCH:US:101http://cgi.ebay.com/RALFI-PAGAN-I-CAN-SE...1QQcmdZViewItemThoughts? Is it fakin' the funk? Overly crusty?

Elektra did it in 1970 when they reissued an old Lonnie Mack LP (originally on Fraternity).

You probably can't tell from an image this small, but the original album cover is beat up and taped together, intentionally for that "collector's item" effect. And the Fraternity logo has been whited out!

So, be thankful that the folks at Fania didn't find the most rinked copies of their old LP's that they could find...

It's a bit of design. We're just trying to make the releases look a little more interesting, and tactile despite them obviously just being in standard plastic jewell cases for these releases.
