I was listening to that collection of Bad Seeds b-sides this morning and thinking to myself that they certainly pushed out consistently good b-sides.What are some other artists with a catalogue of great b-sides?

The mighty god known as Paul Hardcastle.

His a's were often watered down pap aimed at chart action, but the serious drama was on the b's.

Depeche Mode have a lot of excellent b-sides on their 7"s and 12"s.

Prince, Paul McCartney, Pink Floyd had some good ones early on, and I'm sure I'll unconsciously pick someone else with P in their name.

Paul Weller, at least back in his Jam/Style Council days.

I think you could add New Order, that second disc of Substance is pretty solid.

Totally agree, especially The Style Council.
Those 12s often contain some deeply cool jazzy instro's - Mick's Up, Mick's Company etcetera etcetera etcetera

Hell yeah. My instro faves are "Mr. Cool's Dream" and "The Cost" (killer jazz guitar).

Sly and the Family Stone and Creedence kill this category...they were so popular that even their flipsides became hits.

    Honorable mention:
any of the various bands produced by Kasenetz-Katz in the sixties and seventies: the 1910 Fruitgum Co., Crazy Elephant, Ohio Express, Music Explosion, Ram Jam and thousands of others...they used to put the weirdest shit on their B-sides, and sometimes it was nothing more than the A-side run through the tape machine backwards!
