Seriously though.... dude was given E by a couple of fellow bus riders on the previous smoke break before committing the decap, he says this was the first exposure to the drug. It's a proven fact that for a small segment of the pop, E can trigger a MAJOR psychotic lapse of reason, even if you have no prior history of mental illness. If you suffer from a MI, especially schoziprenia, your potential to wig out on E is exponentially higher....
Does this justify what he did...NO, nothing would. But the fact that the dude is going to spend the rest of his days in a high security nut house getting proper care is reassuring. He has no option of parol. If he had been sentenced for second degree murder, which was the alternative, he could have been on parol in 10 years, with minimal psych help along the way... to me this seems the scarier option.
Also, going to the nut house ain't like going to Club Med... he's in for some heavy treatment.
