When I first met her, before she became my wife, she wasn't into all this rare groove, soulful, jazzy, funky, dusty business we all know and love. She was just never exposed to it.

This track, which she knows word for word and sings to when I play it, along with S.O.U.L's "Burning Spear" changed that.

  • Roland Kirk - "Freaks For The Festival"

  • Already mentioned but needs to be repeated:

    So excellent.

No one's mentioned any Mizell Bros. productions?

On the Steely Dan tip, I regularly play out Deodato's "Do it Again", and Ahmad Jamal's version of "Black Cow", both of which are great.
