If I see anyone near 14th & T with an ipod coming through those doors..........they're gonna be spoken of in past tence
From my seat at the bar, it was pretty sweet! M******l had some Fourth Way bumpin', much electric keys bouncing off the walls and even some patrons shakin' their asses for a minute! Good to see Nitekrawler and talk shop about possibly combining forces for a long Wednesday night sometime in the near future. Maybe we can make it a local DC jazz and Funk Special!
Frank, looks like Benson is getting serious about sponsoring the night with his imported Icelandic Viking Beer, and we maybe even giving away a trip to Iceland courtesy of Sait-Ex and the Jazz Corner! I will keep you posted on wetehr or not he will cough up for some advertising, and John also approached me about possibly expanding the happy hour during some Ellington events, so things are slowy starting to take shape.
Last night went off without a hitch. Nice size crowd and got some good feedback on the set. You would have been proud! Got to say thanks to Bird and NiteKrawler for coming down and showing support. Bird, thanks for the tapes and cd's. I'm listening to Har-You in my office right now
