soul train on dvd

this got me thinking again about how there doesn't seem to be any legit dvds of soul train for sale, or at least i couldn't find any online. not even "best of" collections or anything. does anyone have a clue why that could be (legal or technical problems?)sorry, if this has been discussed before...

    i imagine its because of how expensive it would be to obtain all the rights for all the songs they played and artists they showcased... i mean, thats what held up the release of WKRP, DC Cab, and why Urrgh! A Music War will never officially see the light of day (unless CED makes a comeback...).
