in the 80s i used to buy these Giorgio Brutini tennis shoes that had a gold G on the tongue. used to see them in the GQ adds and had a few pairs of those in different styles.

haha, yes. my dad always said the jordans were too expensive, but the summer that the IV's came out i got meningitis and after i got out of the hospital we went searching for the white/grey IV's. that color was sold out, but i ended up copping the white/red/black. not my first choice at the time, but my all time favorite kicks that i owned.

  • Rod Lavers.

ive prolly owned 20 pairs in my life. even scored a pair of nastases once which are basically the rod lavers but with the red blue red stripes. i have 3 pairs in rotation right now. a busted blue bottom pair. a worn green bottom. and a crisp fresh blue bottom pair.

there was a signing recently in melbourne at the adidas store with rod, really would have loved to have gone.
As for shoes choosing one would be as hard as choosing one record, but at this point in time i would say, nike air base II, the first edition of the huarache le in scream green and blue (square tongue tag)or a nice plain gazelle

I had to enter the embarrassing "sneaker boutique" world a couple years ago when I found out Nike'd re-released my favorites: Air Force 3's...I didn't remember them being so freaking HI of a hi-top...but man I love them. The rear of the sole always reminded me of space shuttle boosters or something.

...and that's what I'm looking for in a sneaker, I guess...

    LOL at 1981 Pumps, too!
