And who is going to be the first to make a mix CD that pairs southern rap acapellas with dubstep tracks? And what will it be called? Dirty Dubz? Crunkstep? Stankystep?
yunno, i feel like i was doing this b4 this dude... was doing it in live mixes in 2005, put out an EP in 06... i dunno, it was a nice DJ tool and god bless Nappy for putting the work in, but the idea that it's anything more than a DJ blend record is kinda silly to me...

Oh yeah man, definitely dj blends sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't, i really only got down with two or three out of this whole set. Nothing really like producing and releasing vinyl.
Haven't posted in a while but this is a thread I can actually contribute to. If you're feeling C&S you'd probably like some stuff from Breakage, Ramadanman, Martyn, 2562, Scuba and Sigha. And for a shameless plug check out some stuff by kwality and spherix.
And get thee to www.dubstepforum.com - the mixes and 320's will have you going for months!

my brother asked for some dubstep a few months ago. he had heard some w/ rap acapellas on a local mix show, so i figured i'd throw in that kind of stuff so that he'd hear something he was familiar with. i went back and listen to some of nappy's blends. none of them held up well. they seemed a bit thrown together. your ep, on the other hand, held up quite well.

My friend Squincy Jones from Houston made a dubstep mix of southern rap & nintendo / 8-bit sounds & themes. I made his cover art.

I'm a little disappointed by how much of this is just noisy, instead of having some melody to play off the heaviness of the synth bass and slow crawling tempos.
I'm sticking with Chase & Status and Joker for now.

that's a good mix. i know it's been mentioned on here before.
also, i've been listening to this mix a lot lately.
link is at the bottom of the page. it's a mix by joker. it's not as heavy on the bass, no blends.
