You are so goddamn smart. Except you ain't.

  • I've now moved on to the Lebowski.

  • The best part of that movie is when they try to run up Leo's house and he shoots his way out. I was bugging when he jumped out of the window onto the roof, making sure he took everyone out.

  • That movie gets better with every viewing. One of my all-time favorites; it's so complex. And yes, the dialog is unbeatable.

"My stomach's been seizin' up on me."

"The last time we jawed, you gave me the high hat."

"Have you been to college? 'Cause we only take Yanks what's been to college."

And when you're done there, watch "Barton Fink".

    So dope. Cohen Bros are

  • Barton Fink is a great movie, and a GREAT movie about writing, that I don't know if I I'll ever watch again.

I saw The Hudsucker Proxy a few months back on TV. I hadn't seen it before then, but it's also worth viewing. Tim Robbins and Paul Newman kill it.

  • "Take your flunky and dangle."

    Yes!

"Jaysus, Tom. You're a prickly pear."

"I suppose you think you've raised hell."
"Sister, when I've raised hell, you'll know it."

  • I really like this interaction (stolen from IMDB quotes page):

    Verna: What you doing?
    Tom Reagan: Walking...
Verna: Don't let on any more than you have to.
    Tom Reagan: ...in the rain.

  • Tom Reagan: I am awake.
    Tad: Your eyes are shut.
Tom Reagan: Who you gonna believe?

Man, I gotta start talking like this...

Dude, watch Pickup on South Street. Old-timey lingo for days.

  • for some reason my brain periodically recalls the scene where turturo comes back and tells him "you make me laugh"
