    while the majority of Ras' beats were only alright (not terrible by any stretch), dude actually also happened to rapp over some ridiculous beats over course of his career (Diamond D- and Primo-related).

    Ras Kass opened up for Rakim a couple of years ago in Houston, his music never sounded so irrelevant. I liked his shit when he first came out snippet tape, etc.), but the album was a disappointment. Soul on Ice Remix is dope. But all and all, he's much better as a posse cut dude.

    Jeru at the very least has a classic album under his belt.

    Reading this thread had me thinking. Most ppl think Ras is a better MC but Jeru had the better beats.

    So who's gonna be keen to post up a mash/mix of a Ras Kass accapella with a Jeru insturmental (preferably of first LP)?....

    Imma have a crack at it on the weekend and post mine up Monday!.....

    not when it comes to picking his beats!

    Ras beats can be medicore, Canibus beats have been strait wack. I copped his first LP, and lyrically hes one of the best, but I could only listen to 2 songs off it. His other cds I didnt even buy cus of the same reason..... although his stuff with Stoupe has shown his true potential...lets hope he gets the backing tracks he deserves....
