can anyone reccomend a decent phono preamp. i dont really use my mixer as a dj mixer, just a glorified preamp, so i was thinking of going the dedicated preamp route instead. anyone have any experience with this?

Yup. I'm sure others will weigh in with some ridiculously expensive ones so I'll show you the one you'll probably buy:

    Works great, under $50.

I'm sure that rolls one is fine, but if you have a slightly bigger (but still not huge) budget , check this one out:

it has balanced XLR outs , so if you are doing any kind of higher fidelity recording or sampling , it will be better quality than the ROLLS. If you are just listening and not recording at all the Rolls is more than adequate.

im using it for sampling so the balanced steez is probably the way to go. thanks for that!
