Recently I finally came across a copy Archie Shepp's "Attica Blues" LP. I always loved the super-intense vocals on the title track, but before I got the album and could check the personnel info I always thought all the singers were female, including the lead.Turned out that the lead was by a guy called Henry Hull, which supposedly is a misspelling of soul singer Carl Henry Hall's name.Now, I'd like to know what else is good by this dude? I'm listening to his rendition of Summertime on youtube now, but I can't seem to find much else. I'd like to hear more of his voice. Its got a sense of drama to it that I like. "You Don't Know Nothing About Love" is a classic deep-soul track that Carl Hall (as he is commonly known) waxed for the Loma label in 1967.
