    mediamonkey.com

Honestly, after this you would never need iTunes.

    Happy new year jp

  • thanks, jimster - I guess I should mention that I'm on an (older) mac... is there a mediamonkey version for osx yet?

  • Wait - I think I've got it...

  • Never mind... don't got it

  • Anyone?

    PPC or intel Mac?

    Did you look at Banshee?

  • Haven't looked at Banshee. Experimented with Audion and songbird.

I'm on a Mac Mini g4 on Tiger/OSX4 at 256/ Itunes 7.something. I can't upgrade the OS b/c it requires 520 and I can't upgrade Itunes because it requires Leopard.

I gotta look into the Mono-project which drives Banshee. I'm pretty sure that the GTK WM is X86 based so I'm not sure that it can run on a PPC.

    Will update in a minute.

  • Yeah, I'm on PPC. I think worst case I'll upload the files as a zip and update once I get to the spot (better computer there)

Ok, I found Mono/GTK for PPC:

    http://www.mono-project.com/Mono:PowerPC

Install that, then try to see if you can install Banshee. There's an available Banshee for a popular Linux distro that will on your Mac Mini, but I'm not sure if the Banshee installer for OSX will take on PPC.

    Try and see.
