I saw this recently and thought it looked cool. No extra turntable, and it works for any analog source.b, 21b, 21a href="http://www.thinkgeek.com/electronics/digital-conversion/b06c/" target="_blank"1http://www.thinkgeek.com/electronics/digital-conversion/b06c//a1b, 21b, 21img src="http://www.thinkgeek.com/images/products/front/b06c_ion_urecord_vinyl_cassette_ripper.jpg"1b, 21b, 21/font1

b, 21Simply hook up an old turntable or cassette deck to the uRecord and plug it in into an available USB port on your PC. The included software allows you to convert your music to audio files, then burn to CD or move to your iPod.

Can't vouch... just saw it and liked the looks of it. The same company makes USB turntables. I'm trying to to put 20% down on my first piece of San Diego Real Estate in a few weeks, so I aint coppin no toys...b, 21b, 21There is a 10% off coupon code too: ZOMBIETURKEYb, 21b, 21That code may have expired yesterday.

  • I use this right now while I don't really have room for a receiver and extra speakers. Let's me play records through the speakers I have for my computer and easily record stuff as well. Haven't had any issues with it yet.b, 21b, 21a href="http://www.behringer.com/uca202/index.cfm?lang=eng" target="_blank"1http://www.behringer.com/uca202/index.cfm?lang=eng/a1

b, 21Whats wrong with just using this cable and audicity? Works for me.b, 21b, 21 img src="http://www.frontx.com/pro/c216_042p2.gif"1

  • cos a phono/3.5mm jack will only give you a mono recording...b, 21if you use audacity it will create a stereo image of one of the channels, either right or left, i cant remember right now.b, 21but its the method i use, cheap easy as fusk and perfectly acceptable for the pizzodb, 21 img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/headz.gif" alt="" 21

Uhhh... no. See how it says 1/8" STEREO audio jack. I get stereo recordings this way with garage band.

I use an ion ittusb usb turntable on a mac, but I get static issues when I record for an extended period of time. Anyone got a tried and true fix?

i was down for that Ion when my friend got one...but then I saw it just sends audio over USB. Into his soundcard with Audacity. What they wanted him to install. b, 21b, 21Seems zero improvement for someone that already has any sort of turntable and access to a Radio Shack for a Y-cable.b, 21b, 21I can record stereo into my Line In jack with Audacity.b, 21b, 21If you didn't already have a turntable, these would be nice though...but this is worldfamous soulstrut i mean comeon

  • I run cables from my mixer into a standard USB audio interface ... this one here:b, 21b, 21img src="http://salestores.com/stores/images/images_747/US122.jpg" 21b, 21b, 21They're pretty versatile. I use the same interface to do simple 2 mic recordings of my rock band. It has phantom power for condensor mics. They're around $100 and come with a basic version of Cubase, though I do just use Audacity when recording records.

  • I also gotta shout out my 2 favorite programs for recording LPs.b, 21b, 21PolderbitS for recording. Perfect piece of software - small, efficient, gets the job down with a tiny footprint on your computer - unlike the large, bloated Audacity. This is exactly what I am looking for to archive this stuff digitally. Fortunately I still have a tape deck to hook up to my computer.b, 21b, 21You saved me from having to post up a question on the best way to do this. You da man.
