    Ok... I went on tour a few years ago to run a series of hip-hop workshops in regional parts of Queensland. the first palce we went was this country town in the middle of nowhere called Emeraldsville or something like that. The place was straight timewarp 30 years back and shit. Towards the end of the day, it started to thunder and the clouds rolled in... as I pack up my gear I realise there is a cut, live wire just waiving around right next to me, and as it starts to rain, the wire starts to spark... it's not noticable enough unless you're looking at it, which made it all the more dangerous and freaky... and no-one seemed to bat an eyelid! Never seen anything like it before.

    At a club in England, they had this crazy set-up hanging from a wall, On chains (they were not loose chain links).b, 21b, 21I guess they were trying to set the illusion that it was levitating or some shit like that.b, 21Like it was some f*cking bench swing.Shit made me sweat when I was cueing up. Luckly, It was bordered off from everyone.It was mad awkward.

I've done a gang of fusked up house parties with funky setups.b, 21Um, ok, checkit.b, 21About 4 years ago I DJ'ed on the back of a flatbed truck for a Mardi Grasb, 21parade in Lafayette, LA. I was set up on 20 cinderblocks with some mufugginb, 21tennis balls on the feet of the 12's. 4 15" speakers on each corner of theb, 21truck facing out. No monitor. Sh*t was zoomin all around me. b, 21Beads flying everywhere. Plastic footballs knockin the needle off. Beer cupsb, 21literaly hitting the fader and knocking it over to deadly silence. Took a big corner at one point and I watched the needle on plug1 completely skid acrossb, 21the rekkird(RockCreekPark) in the mix. b, 21The 87-99 Florida Booty Bass absolutely killed it. Shit lasted 3 hours and we travelled like 3 miles. Saw some tits. b, 21Totally fusked up but probably my favorite non-club gig evar.

I get there and everything is going down in the basement. Beer cans/bottles and garbage everywhere, nasty shit all over the walls, couches everywhere. I'm told in advance they've got a nice sturdy table for me to use (yeah riiiight). I end up setting up my mixer, turntables on three different couch type end tables that are all low to the ground. A little ridiculous, but works. I end up sitting the entire time (once again, too low). Sound system wasn't too bad. Just a ton of big speakers hooked up to some old ass amp, worked for the night. I don't even know why I didn't bother looking for an actual table around the house to use hab, 21b, 21Fun night though, completely packed.

    font class="post"1b, 21b, 21b, 21I DJ'd at a place in the Village years ago that had a DJ platform welded into the middle of a wrought iron stairwell. You had to go up a flight of stairs and climb down into it, where the tables were hanging in their own little platform on chains.

    What's that place in Tenderloin where the dj booth is hanging over this gaping hole that leads into the cellar? That place always scared me and any place you needed to climb a ladder to get into- I'm thinking the Mushroom Jazz spot in SF and a few sketchy NYC spots.
