I'm getting into Steve Reich (music for 18 musicians) and Philip Glass (glassworks) pretty hard right now, and it's a nice soundtrack to the snow outside here in Toronto. There's gotta be some of you on here who dig stuff like this, and I wanna know where to go from here. Thoughts?? Either other composers or other albums by the ones I mentioned above would be appreciated.b, 21b, 21thx

  • What is it that you dig about them in particular?b, 21b, 21If you dig the minimalist stuff, Terry Riley, La Monte Young, Tony Conrad, Phil Niblock, Pauline Oliveros, and David Borden are all pretty great. Those Yoshi Wada CDs that have been coming out are great, too.b, 21b, 21On the non-minimalist side of things, I really like Gy??rgy Ligeti (the Arditti Quartet stuff is awesome), Hermann Nitsch, Mauricio Kagel (check "Exotica"), Luciano Berio, Jo Kondo, Akio Suzuki, and Harry Partch.b, 21b, 21EDIT: Xenakis' "Persepolis" is incredible too, one of my definite favorites.
