While I don't think an Obama presidency will end racism in America it will bring a lot of it to the surface for us as a country to deal with, directly. I believe that Obama refers to this as a teachable moment. It will be another step in our evolution as a country.

    font class="post"1b,121I think this second point you made is the biggest factor for people around the world getting so excited about your election this time around. It's not because he's black, it's because he's got a ton of charisma and he's a symbol of a new generation rising to power and shedding off the old reactionary snake skin of past decades.b, 21b,121I didn't want to post this in the other thread cause that one started corny and then got poisoned by a sour Vitamin but I don't think there's any reason why Americans should get upset or angry at the rest of the world for feeling so strongly about this election. The rest of the free world has always been looking up to the US but in recenty years that has been harder and harder. You should also considder things like the fact that there are European troups in Afghanistan as well and Germany as an example has thatfor moved into the crosshairs of islamic terrorism. We're allies and the rest of the world judges us by what you do as much as by what we do. Besides the economies of our countries being strongly connected, we're also connected culturally, through mutual friends and through history. So please don't get mad, it's not easy for some of us to voice our feelings about this in a foreign language and some shit might sound patronizing, corny or whatnot but go ahead and try talking about serious shit in a foreign language and some of it is bound to sound the wrong way. Hell, it's not a bad thing that the rest of the world cares this much and wants to see a better America as much as you do.
