    Saw this on CNN. It's different in every state, and the only state that confirmed that this is the case is North Carolina.

    Hm, I'm in NC and the only problem I've heard about is the fact that the prez vote is separate from the straight party and that SP voters may not realize they have to check a prez too.b,121b,121I know there aren't touch screen machines in my county, I don't think there are any in the state. We have what is considered to be one of the safest and most tamperproof systems.

    Doesn't make sense. Why would the presidential pick matter in Texas? McCain's on deck to win Texas by a landslide.b,121b, 21Also, I voted straight Dem on Tuesday in Texas, when I reviewed my ballot, Obama was still my pick for POTUS.

    BTW, I looked at our "controversial" local ballot, which is supposedly tricking people into thinking their straight party vote includes the prez when it doesn't.b,121b, 21It says clearly at the top PRESIDENTIAL BALLOT - SELECT ONE, then after that it has STRAIGHT PARTY VOTE, and in either one or both of those sections it clearly indicates that the prez is not included in the straight party choice.b,121b,121This is the only controversy regarding our system - its still a paper ballot you fill out w/a black marker.
