i think i'm still on a wall somewhere in bushwickb,121b,121

  • Better than Staten Island

  • Rill Brooklyn to all arriviste 'artists' who are colonizing various ghettos "'cause williamsburg's too expensive now, and the scene is dead": please go back home. b,121b,121http://www.shesmature.com/img/ny-flyer1.jpgb,121and no, no records in brooklyn.

  • Brooklyn is Brooklyn no more...b,121It's all people from Florida and Ohio wearing 'Defend Brooklyn' t shirts now, it's not the Brooklyn of Chaim Potok or Roy Ayers.b,121Nevertheless it's still ok to leave Manhattan and make a few trips there every year for the occasional pupusa or DiFara's slice or to see a friends baby, but that about it.

b,121b,121There's plenty of Brooklyn that is not like this at all. The majority in fact. Still one of the most beautiful and diverse places I have ever laid my head and a damn good place to eat foods of all sort.

  • Prospect Park is still the best city park in America.

Brooklyn is the greatest places on the planet. I'm proud to be able to consider myself a Brooklynite.

b,121b,121h,121b,121b,121Let me put it this way - I'm a born and raised Philadelphian and I love it, and will always consider Philly to be my home in a sense. But I don't think that I will ever live there again. b,121b,121With Brooklyn, I've lived there off and on since 1994 - continuously since 2003 - and it feels more like "home" to me than anywhere else I've lived in my life. I want to stay here, live my life here, hopefully raise my family here, and grow old and die here. I know my wife feels the same as well. So while I might be a new Brooklynite, I'm committed to my choice and my life in this great city. So while I might not be a native, my children will be, and I'm okay with that.

We lived in Boerum Hill from '97-'00, before that one year on Staten Island (the horror... but we were dead broke and you won't find a place for 350 bucks a month incl. utilities anyplace else in NY...). My wife and I both loved it. Our old neighborhood changed a lot and I wouldn't want to live there anymore but when we moved back to NYC 3 months ago, we had a free choice where to live (wife's employer pays rent) and we never even thouyght about moving to Manhattan. Now we're in Park Slope, mainly so I can walk the dogs in Prospect Park every day... I don't go out that much anymore, so I don't need to be in Williamsburg. I could never live in the East Village or the LES and deal with the neverending flood of drunken idiots who fall into downtown Manhattan every weekend night like a swarm of thirsty locusts.

b,121b,121Oh the douchebags! My girl used to live on 10th b/w 1st & 2nd aves before we moved in together, and the weekends were awful. It was nice being able to just step outside and go about 1-2 blocks in any direction and find a bar or restaurant though.

Shit is cool then, but at 35+ i dont need to hear that shit at 3 am. I grew up w/ street noise being from Uptown,, but its just part of the night sound. Way different from drunk cats yellin at the top their lungs from Thurs-Sun.

You know, the kind with tiny dogs that stop in the middle of the sidewalk to check their blackberry with no regards to pedestrian traffic type and give you a dirty look when you walk around them type douchebags.
