Moneytown will be CRAZY this month as Jason Perlmutter will be joining us PLUS we have a special short set by our friend Georges (aka "YoIGotBeats"), a talented soul DJ whom many of you know. It was there that he developed a special interest in soul music, with an emphasis on local groups. Jason spent much of his time and energy tracking down Carolina groups, (documented in loving detail on his excellent website: a href="http://www.carolinasoul.org" target="_blank"1www.carolinasoul.org/a1), and playing their records on both the radio station and at club nights. His DJ resume boasts such prestigious milestones as Bumpshop (APT in NYC), and opening for J.Rocc at the Neighborhood Theatre in Charlotte, NC. Since 2007, Jason has acted as Project Coordinator for 7 re-issue singles on Kay-Dee, Funk 45 and Soul-Cal. He was also the main force behind the widely successful Carolina Funk Compilation, released on Jazzman & Now-Again in 2007. b,121b,121That being said, you know to expect some seriously heavy funk and soul tunes with a special dose of Carolina fire when Jason mans the decks at Moneytown!
