Then he can be like "I'm going to Washington to do my Senator duties in your time of need, but lets be clear, McCain on the Republicans causes this shit...etc etc." 1b,121b,121b,121Postpone the debates?1 Where do those take place? Can't they just move them to Washington? Obama needs to be like "yo, we're going to vote on this bailout and then it's you and me, McCain. 7pm at the debate hall, on schedule. Play this as presidential multitasking, imply that McCain is incapable of doing the same.b,121b,121Obama actually called McCain this morning to propose a joint statement - McCain returned his call at 2:30 agreeing in principle, and then 10 minutes later issued his own statement.1If this ends up getting press traction it will be a BIG problem for McCain.b,121b,121Obama is not going to willfully suspend the debate.b,121b,121I like his swag on this - it's very risky but he's in a position of power and if he pulls this off, it could be a potential tipping point.b,121b,121The press is so mad at McCain right now they are already spinning this as a political ploy - we'll have to see how it shakes out but it sure is keeping things interesting.
