Damn man, we are humbled by the response this is getting and all the hard work Controller 7 did. b,121b,121We have all sorts of stupid inside jokes from a decade of touring and one of them (which came about in Perth) was we would just start rattling off Rick James doing the most outlandish hip hop lyrics and substituting Stone City Band and Buffalo when appropriate. Boomin' System was the one that really set it of - "Bottom to the Bottom, To The Top to The Top" we just kept saying that over and over again and dying. We are wierd muthafuckas and i understand that some people may not find this funny. Anyhooo, Got home from the tour and to make it even more funny we had this idea for an infomercial where rick is trying to sell covers of the songs, then it went a step further when i got out the originals to the songs and re-layed them over the Mary Jane Girls drums. Double K went in the booth and rattled the whole thing off of the top of his head in one pass. And that would have been it and it wouldn't have seen the light day had Tommy not already shown (at least to me) that he is a downright funny muthafucka (with a similar sense of humor) and an incredible talent. b,121b,121Strut linked up and sent him the track and this dude spent countless hours slaving away on this. PROPS man. Seriously. font class="post"1b,121b,121it was all photoshop and imovie. I've made a bunch of jpegs on here and some animated gifs, but I've never made anything like this. It was much harder than I thought, especially since I had to follow an already determined timeline and storyboard.b,121b,121I'm really happy people are enjoying it and that Thes is so happy with it. This all started right after I made that gif of Wilfred Brimley biting Thes's head off. He sent me a PM and I thought he was mad at me, because I'd never talked to him before. He said "you want to do a secret photoshop job?" A few months went by before any of it really got going. I got married and started a new job and lagged hard. I ended up procrastinating and making the video this past week. I'm glad I got to be part of it.
