So i guess that the guy took apart the platter and motor and tone arm from another turntable and separated the parts to give platter isolation and weight.

font class="post"1b,121b,121I thought it was gonna be a turntable built from scratch, which I was imagining to be nightmarish. That clears things up though. b,121b,121Seems like having the motor that far away might create problems in the long haul, as I would imagine the motor is calibrated for certain amperage, and adding distance would affect the tension which would affect the draw, but I'm not an electronics engineer, so who knows.
