    At first I though it was a misprint bill. I would laugh if it's not real and someone just had to eat their bid on the 50's thinking they were getting something out of it.

    Out of curiosity do many americans carry $100 bills on them? Is that the norm? I'd be paranoid about dropping or losing something like that.

Not because I'm scared to lose it, it's just really not necessary unless your going on a house call or a flea market where they don't take cards.b,121b,121Direct deposit and debit cards is all you really need.b,121b,121It did screw me yesterday though when my favorite local taquerias credit card machine was down and I had to go to my second favorite local taqueria down the street.

    I haven't seen anything higher than a ??20 outside of a racecourse since.... since forever.b,121b,121You try to buy something with a ??50 note over here and folks would have to ask the manager, who invariably would ask you to change it down the bank and then they can deal.b,121b,121They are so rarely seen through a till that almost everyone thinks they are fake.

    Lots of places here have signs posted that they don't accept any bills larger than a $20, especially fast food spots and convenience stores.

    I remember hearing a story from a boxer friend of mine, who was (lower down) on the same bill as Chris Eubank, getting paid ??2000 in ??50's for his fight.b,121b,121After his bout, he got into a tux and took his bird to the VIP bar. He was worried that they wouldn't take ??50's, but then found out that this would not be a problem as the drinks were ??50. Each.
