This shit sucks.

Yes, preempt people from actually doing what they shoulda done when they were 10 years old and learn how to survive OFF OF THE GRID. Especially now that that grid is showing all sorts of signs of catastrophic collapse...make sure to shout down anyone suggesting that people get their houses in order by making allusions to a movie that you deem as silly. b,121b,121In other news, power generators sure are valuable in parts of Texas/Louisiana right now.

I just don't get what people get out of some of the shit they say. I mean, what's it to you if someone else invests in survival equipment while you're instead investing in My Little Pony dolls?b,121b,121Seriously, if the extent of your whining about the economy is that you'll be able to take one less vacation next year...sorry, but there are plenty of other people who will instead be figuring out how to keep fed and healthy.

font class="post"1b,121b,121I think it's sensible to be prepared for a natural disaster but if you're talking about a doomsday scenario in terms of complete gov't infrastructural collapse, I don't see any evidence that such an event is on the horizon. b,121b,121Sure, it's not a great economy right now - unemployment is over 6% for the first time in years - but it's not like we're back in the 1930s. We're not even in the late '70s yet. And just because Wall St. fucked up isn't threatening to collapse the entire financial system.
