Seeing as how several of y'all have such a raging hard-on for '70s AM Gold, I'm surprised that Peter Lemongello's name hasn't come up yet.Only thing is, he never had a hit single, but evidently this commercial for his album used to run like clockwork on East Coast television and made him a regional star anyways. I'm sure this LP is probably a common sight in NY/NJ thrifts and rummage sales. Check this action:

    same thing i was thinkin'

    he later got a shot at a legit record deal w/private stock records, who also had "a fifth of beethoven" and frankie valli. and that's how i first heard of him, because long after the mania died down and private stock went out of business, his album was all over the woolworth's bargain bins
