    Highlights was (and is?) a great Children's magazine. Each magazine contained stories, science facts, and cartoons. Well illustrated and written. I remember reading it at the dentist's/doctor's office all the time when I was a kid.



    Those cartoons are really bringing some memories back!

    I'm not too proud to admit that I didn't read Highlights for the articles.

    I also could never find quite all of the hidden items in the picture.

    I loved Highlights as a kid in Montreal! Ordered it out of those Scholastic book catalogues all the time.

    I was thinking that was a possibility. But I STILL dont get it, who would say that shit, why? beats me.

    Its funny, because I actually flipped through a Highlights today, while in a waiting room. It was either: People, US weekly, Home and Garden, or Highlights.

    I think it's implying that one has to be polite and acknowledge friends, of one's own age, and older as well.

    highlights reminds me of the dentist office.

    Highlights was how they got me to GO to the dentists office. Wound up getting the subscription. Always thought Goofus was a dick though. I might start calling this guy at work Goofus now that I think of it.

    I looked at an issue today at the doctors office too, plus read an entire Berenstain Bear book where the kid tried to hide his report card. It all worked out in the end though, thanks to Gran Bear's cookies.

    I just wanted to say that I had a shitty day and that this post made me feel better. I haven't thought about highlights in probably 15 years.

    you guys know how I do those upside images i.e. with the celebs faces imposed over a pop culture reference? well when i did the search for a hidden object in the picture section in Highlights, that sheit was like a visual orgasm for me. id have more fun finding things that weren't supposed to be there. I always went straight to the crafts page, i didnt like the rest of the magazine.
