I would wait for Aser and Joe Mojo to weigh in. There's a couple other dude's that can prolly offer some great recommendations.
Late 60s/early 70s Wilson Simonal
Tim Maia
Yes, but what is his stance on gravatas floridas?
More on the soul side, I really like Cassiano's "Apresentamos Nosso Cassiano", arranged by Lindolfo Gaya. Such a beautiful record, and kind of slept on because it's lacking braeks.
The one that's been really killing me is a little out of scope of this thread. It's the 1972 Dorival Caymmi LP. A mix of traditional Bahian religious and work music with bossa and choro. Heavy stuff, and it's also arranged by Lindolfo Gaya.
simply beautiful arrangements, sublime...
funkier, backed by Som Tres.
I don't know how i forgot him. he's been on repeat on the itunes.
Love that LP!
Love the tunes, can't deal with the voice.
HAHA yeah, i hear you. i've grown accustomed.
