External Harddrive Crashed (Microwave Related)

I was dragging some recent downloads from another computer into my external, then after that i was trying to hook it up to my laptop and all of a sudden one of the folder inside says its is damaged and is EMPTY! thats almost 20GB of MP3s gone all of a sudden...any advice if they can be retrieved please ?i did a virus scan before this happen, and there was a W32.Drom or some shit...which they cleaned it up but still...

    shit man.... sounds like a hardware fault?? have u tried the drive on a different computer?

    go to google blog search and look for data recovery and rapidshare. i can't remember the one i used last time one of my 30 gig music folders decided to vanish but they are all essentially the same.

    mac or microsoft?

    for microsoft i can recommend Stellar Pheonix, usually works for me
