Most of my Bang records are the older yellow label with the drawing of the pistol (or red and white with the pistol, if it's an album), but I always did like the "clouds/blue sky" label from the seventies.
Another similar "clouds/blue sky" label (that I couldn't find an image for): Phillips International, the subsidiary of Sun. 1950's rockabilly singer Barbara Pittman once said that when she signed to Sun, she had a choice of recording for either label. She chose Phillips Int'l 'cause she liked the way the label looked.
I'll be printing this up on some american apparel blanks, I know you wider and more sophisticated dudes may not want this brand of shirt, but those who do give me a shout.
what are the color choices?
What would like to see?
I will be doing a black (or navy) ink on organic white for sure. I'll print myself a sky blue ink on natural.

This is more about the label itself, although I've always been an Atlantic junkie.
How long did this variation last?
isnt that a chinese pressing? i dont think this variation ever existed in the US.
No it didn't (which is why I posted it). I had been told it was a Japanese pressing, although I've generally seen Japan use the standard green and red labels.
I don't think I've ever seen any Atlantic pressings from China so... I don't know.
EDIT: I had made an assumption when I originally got this graphic, and I should have trusted my instinct when I saw the catalog number but... this is the label for the Japanese quadraphonic pressing. Japan was the only country that released this album in quad, so no U.S. counterpart.
I'm down for a shirt too... black all the way in a large. Who's your friend elise? i really dig Dirtybird, been checking it for a while.
J-Phlip...you'll be hearing more of her soon. And I'm excited cause I'm finally moving to SF in a few months, and I'll get to see her more. And well, and of course SF is great too!!

Sweet, I'll keep my eye out for her - I've been making a lot of that sounding stuff lately for some reason. Good luck with the move!
