i haven't had a three day weekend in a while. i slept in til 10. roast beef sandwich and beer now.this is awesome. sometimes, california-only holidays are pretty good.edit: shouts to these states:
Chavez Day is currently a holiday in eight states: Arizona, California, Colorado, Michigan, New Mexico, Texas, Utah, and Wisconsin.
I didn't even realize.we need more national holidays.

    i drove my ol'lady to class today only to remember (when we got to the school) that there was no class today

    We don't get the day off here at the University of MN, but AFSCME folks are wearing red to mark the occasion.

    Totally ignorant here.

    I heard him speak once. He was very frail. He destroyed his health with his fasts.

    Our city council just tried to rename a street for him. Neighborhood freaked out. Very sad.

    I live in LA and they didn't cancel classes today. wierd.
