Hi guys,Need your expertise on this one. I know the Gold label mono is considered the OG. But where does the stereo Fania copy rank and is it considered a second pressing? Many thanks,b

the stereo shouldnt be ranked separately, because they would have put that out simultaneously with the mono. in other words, both should have come out at the same time.

I thought that they were separate pressings (but only by a year or two early on), and that Fania was exclusively Mono for the first couple of years (because, as you know, it started in 1963). I assumed that the change in logo reflected the turn to Stereo (and limited, simultaneous Mono). Either that, or that the stereo/cloud label was a later, nationally-distributed version of the gold-labeled OGs.

    Either way, BOOM:

I'd like a definitive answer on this, too.

I'd pay more for the Gold label stereo press. I think that matters more than chronology.

When did the cloud labels begin appearing? Early '70s?
