When I let friends play my records I watch how they handle the first one. You can pretty much tell in about 5 seconds if they know their way around a turntable and around wax. If they look shaky I will watch them closely otherwise I can relax.
I think this is a sound philosophy. Plus, most of my friends who would be interested in playing the raerz are also collectors and understand the care and feeding of vinyl discs.
