I've found quite a few other Phil Phillips 45's on Mercury besides "Sea Of Love." Sad to say, none of them are as good (except "The Evil Dope," a bizarre antidrug sermon from way later that I have on a CD comp of novelty records). But "Sea Of Love" itself is a bonafide Louisiana slow-grind swamp-pop classic, it is...

Even though I like the Cat Power version, the og is the best.

  • Bonafide classic indeed...

And, for the many covers, I'm rolling with Cat Power and her- dulcimer?

OG is the best. If I had to go with a cover version it would be The Heptones version.
