Bias and prejudice are real, and worth thinking about. When people who like jazz reveal that they know and care little about the first forty years; when people who like modern composition know and care little about the first four centuries; when people who like popular song can't get down with virtually anything pre-Beatles; when people who like folk music can't get behind anything "trad" -even older stuff- --well, I call bullshit. And when people confuse extra-musical stuff like the ambience of Starbucks with the actual existence and merit of the music itself, I call double bullshit.
