After the recent thread, I felt the urge to compile a thorough discography of his works. Finding info is at best spotty online, I was hoping we can pool our resources together to gather a formative list. I grabbed that MPB-4 LP a few weeks ago and loved it.
is any of their other stuff recommended?
Aha! I've heard several of those w/o realizing he was involved. Especially love the Karma s/t.
Some of the Philips '10 Anos Depois' series are just greatest hits packages - is this like the Jorge Ben one, where they re-recorded the songs as medleys?
as for recommendations, I assume you're looking for something similar to his s/t album. Celia's 1972 album has a cover of "Na Boca Do Sol" which is on the Verocai album. I'm a big fan of both Celia albums, along with the O Terco and Ivan Lins. People ride for the Karma s/t also. I don't have to tell you to check India or Negro e Lindo, that's common knowledge.
Keep in mind Verocai did a LOT of work, with artists of various genres. Don't go in expecting everything to sound like his s/t.

I don't remember this sounding like a medley recording.
That Karma record is soooo dope. O Terco's first is solid too, but quite pricey.
A record I would recommend is Palhacos e Reis on Philips, early 70's.
There is a nice interview with Arthur Verocai on YouTube, as well as him playing a couple of accoustic versions from tracks off his new album.
His new album Encore by the way,is lovely.
I think every MPB-4 record has at least one good song. Try 'Cicatrizes' if you haven't heard it.
