My friend directed this video for some other friends of mine, Bmore indie duo Beach House. Don't know if anyone here is into them... their debut came out in '06 and quickly became a favorite on SS's least-favorite music site Pitchfork (Beach House had one of Pitchfork's top 20 albums and top 10 tracks of '06). Friends with/part of the same scene as Celebration, they're most often compared to Mazzy Star.Pitchfork posted the video today:http://www.pitchforkmedia.com/page/forkcast/48669-beach-house-you-came-to-meAnd you can read more info here:http://consequenceofsound.com/2008/02/13/watch-beach-house-you-came-to-me/I worked on the shoot and think it turned out cool despite very low budget... obviously it looked better before getting mega-compressed to fit on sites like youtube, but what doesn't.

  • Nice! The video looks great. I saw Beach House about a year ago at the g-spot with sf's Papercuts...they put on a hazy, fun set. "Master of None" was my favorite track off their album.

Are they playing again soon? I'm completely out of the loop.

Master of None is my favorite song of theirs, as well. It was the first recording of theirs I heard... when they put it up on their myspace page I gave it a listen, as I would for any friend who let me know they had a new song up. Unlike w/ many friends, I stayed up until 3 a.m. hitting "play" time after time.

They're leaving on tour right after the album comes out (the 26th) but first they have another G-Spot show on the 28th.
