    I know!!!!! Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

The look on his face, too. It made me weak in my knees.

  • That was alot of blood.

The unedited version is just crazy.

Talk about staying relatively calm in severe conditions

I think that can be attributed to shock, no?

I can't get You Tube - not sure if I saw an unedited version or not - I don't think I need to see more than what I already did!!

  • What are you guys talking about?

Panthers/Sabres game last night - Richard Zednick's neck caught by a blade. And by caught I mean slashed! Can't post the YouTube, but you'll see.

  • A teamate got upended in front of him and hit his corotid artery.

There's versions on youtube, but most are edited that in the replay they cut right after the initial slash.

You can search with the word "graphic" at the end of his name and you'll see quite a cloos-up.

On the regular versions though you can see the long trail of blood he left on the ice.

The one from 10 years ago was worse forget the players name???

  • Clint Malarchuk.

Watching them both I'd say there both of equal horror.

Ouch - this was the first I'd heard of it, just
watched the youtube. Gonna be hard not to think about
it tonight when I'm playing. I remember one time a guy
in front of me fell so that his legs whipped up in the
air like that, and his blades came across my face, just
missing by an inch or two ... it was scary as hell.
I've been high sticked across the eye where blood started
pouring before, it's gross and frightening, but nothing
    like that ... yikes.

  • Are you required to wear neck guards or something of equal protectiveness?

No - and people give me shit for not wearing
a mask or visor on my helmet. But bear in mind,
I play recreational hockey for fun, not 100MPH
organized hockey with crazy hitting and action.
Still, a high stick or puck in the face can happen
anytime, no matter how "mellow" the game may be.

  • Yeah, and those blades aren't any less sharper in the non-NHL leagues
