I own a microtrack 24/96 and have used it for about 2 years. It's really handy and I highly recommend it for all semi-pro uses. I routinely used it for recording everything from vinyl for ebay samples or casual listening, focus groups for research w/a binaural mics, and live DJ sets. It excelled in all settings and it never botched a recording. Definitely more stable than DAT (well, that's not saying much). WAV files sounded great, MP3 encoding was acceptable. The microtrack II probably has a few extra features and better firmware. Definitely worth it for $300 to have in your audio arsenal.
For you people who own one, what are your primary uses for it?
I live next to a college radio station & I would love to go in there & record from vinyl, but they only have a cassette tape recorder. Does it have RCA inputs?

No, dual 1/4", but just get two RCA => 1/4" adapters.
