Quick Audio Recording Advice

I just recently had a friend pass away for some rather unfortunate causes. And I want to make a recording of me talking about my memories with him with some music over it.I have iMovie which I have used before for fun, and could record my voice and add audio except i don't know how to export just the audio and music to mp3.Would someone please help me figure what I could do with this short of time? Audacity? Which I had and now can't find. But am downloading right now. I have a built in microphone in my mac, and im not freaking out so much about quality so much right now but to actually express how much ill miss him.Thanks ahead of time...this means the world to me.I hope this makes sense! My mind is a bit tired.

    got it all figured out. Thank you, mint. Damn that was hard to do. Again, life's crazy.
